No personal data

Lattice9 collects no personal data. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Mampi Technologies Ltd never receives your vaults, your files, your file names, your passwords or your recovery keys.

Lattice9 does not use the internet

The Lattice9 app never connects to the internet. On Android, the app does not have the internet permission, so Android itself stops it from going online. On Windows and Linux, the program has no network code. Nothing you put in a vault is sent anywhere by Lattice9.

If you choose to keep a vault in a folder that a cloud service syncs (for example OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox or iCloud), that service will store an encrypted copy of the vault. Lattice9 warns you when it can tell a folder is synced. The vault stays encrypted, but that copy is then held by the cloud service under its own terms.

What is stored on your device

WhatWhat it isHow long it stays
Your vaults Encrypted vault folders, in the place you choose. On Android, inside the app's own private folder. Until you delete them.
Recent vault folders The folder locations of vaults you opened, so you can find them again. Not file names, and nothing inside a vault. You can turn this off in Settings. Until you turn it off, clear the list, or uninstall.
Settings Choices such as how many idle minutes before the vault locks. Until you change them, or uninstall.
Fingerprint unlock (Android only, optional, off by default) A protected copy of that vault's key, locked by the phone's secure hardware, kept in the app's private storage, never inside the vault folder. It can only be used after your fingerprint is accepted by the phone. Until you turn it off, change the password, use the recovery key, re-encrypt, add a new fingerprint to the phone, or uninstall.

Lattice9 does not keep unencrypted copies of your files. When you extract a file, it is written only to the folder you choose.

Permissions on Android

Screenshots, screen recording and the recent-apps preview are blocked inside Lattice9 so your files are not captured by accident. Phone backup and phone-to-phone transfer are turned off for the app.

Buying Lattice9

Lattice9 is sold through Gumroad (Windows and Linux) and Google Play (Android). They handle payment and tax under their own privacy policies. When you buy through Gumroad, Gumroad shares your email address and order details with Mampi Technologies Ltd so we can provide support and updates. When you buy through Google Play, Google shares order details with us as described in Google's policies. We use these only for the purchase, support and the law, and we do not sell or share them.
