No personal data

Mosquito9 collects no personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking of you. The add-on does not sell data, because it does not have any to sell.

Page addresses stay on your device

When you open a normal website, Mosquito9 looks at that page's address on your device. It uses the address to decide the warning light, to block known third-party trackers, and to remove known tracking tags. The address is not sent anywhere. It is not stored as a browsing history.

The only internet requests

About once a day, Mosquito9 downloads two public threat lists. These downloads do not include any information about you or the site you are visiting, beyond the IP address any download reveals.

The lists are downloaded from GitHub (raw.githubusercontent.com). As with any download, GitHub can see your device's IP address when the download happens. Mosquito9 sends nothing else: no account, no identifier, and not the site you are visiting.

A copy of each list is also shipped inside the add-on, so the warning light can work before the first download.

The panel links to mampitech.com, the services page, and the scam-help page only if you click them. Those clicks do not include the address of the site you were looking at.

What is stored on this device

WhatWhat it isHow long it stays
Allow this site The name of a site where you turned blocking off, and a rule number. Not the full page address. Until you turn the switch off for that site, or uninstall Mosquito9.
Mampi browser colours On or off. Firefox only. The switch stays off until you turn it on. Until you change the switch, or uninstall.
Threat lists The text of the two public lists above, after a successful download. Until a newer download replaces them, or you uninstall. A download younger than 24 hours is reused.
Continue The name of a site you chose to open from the warning page. Not the full page address. Until you close the browser.
Password box A yes or no: whether an ordinary http page has a password box. Not the password, and not anything you type. Until you close that tab.

How to remove it

Uninstall Mosquito9. That removes the notes above and the saved threat lists from this device. Closing the browser clears the "continue" site names and the password-box yes or no. Turning Allow this site off removes that one site. Turning Mampi browser colours off stops the toolbar colour change.

Why it needs access to all websites

Mosquito9 asks to read and change data on websites so it can do its job on the pages you open:

That access stays on your device. It is not used to send your browsing away.
