How I protect your data

Your computer holds your photos, emails and bank logins. Here's exactly how I look after them.

Encrypted backups

Before any repair that could affect your files, I back them up to an encrypted drive. Without the password it's unreadable, even if it were lost or stolen.

Tested drives only

Every drive I use for backups is tested for fakes and faults before it goes anywhere near your data.

Deleted when the job's done

Your backup is securely deleted within 14 days of the job finishing, unless you ask us to keep it longer, as set out in my repair privacy notice.

No snooping

I only open what I need to fix the problem. I don't browse your photos, messages or files.

Your encryption keys stay yours

If your computer is encrypted (BitLocker), I make sure you have your recovery key before any work starts. I never keep a copy.

Fully insured

Every job is covered by professional indemnity and public liability insurance, so you're protected if anything goes wrong.

Every job is written on a job sheet you sign, and my repair terms and privacy notice are on this site.
